Reel Earth FilmFest returns
Coming to Palmerston North this May is the 2018 Reel Earth Environmental Film Festival.
Entering its 13 th year, the festival continues to use the art of film to inspire positive environmental change.
These films will shed light on environmental issues as well as inspire hope for a sustainable world.
This year’s festival features films with wide ranging topics from the environmental impacts of the fashion industry and the freshwater crisis we currently face.
Films include Leonardo DiCaprio’s Before the Flood, and Food Evolution, narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson.
The films are relevant to all New Zealanders, and some of them were even filmed in our own backyard.
There are films for people of all ages, there is something for everyone with many award-winning documentaries from filmmakers all around the world.
There are plenty of childfriendly films as well as a short film day just for kids.
Tickets are $3 - $5, and some of the films are even free to attend.
Our opening event is on May 1 st at the Globe Theatre.
We invite you to join us for the opening of this year’s festival where we will also be celebrating the winners of our Short Film Competition, and showing the winning films on the big screen.
This is an awesome opportunity to check out some of our local filmmaking talent!
The film programme is out now on reelearth.org.nz, Eventfinda, and Facebook.
