Black Sea

Jude Law carries this claustrophobic underwater thriller on his shoulders, making it a better film than its somewhat shallow plot deserves. In one of his darkest, and best, roles in years, he plays Captain Robinson, an underwater salvager hired to find a sunken Nazi treasure ship. Inevitably, high hopes and good intentions give way to greed and paranoia, but director Kevin Macdonald does a good job of pulling it all together and throws in a few genuinely scary moments. ★★★
