Looks familiar

The TV Guide - - GAME OF THRONES -

Actor Aidan Gillen (above) knew exactly the look he wanted for his Game Of Thrones character, Lord Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish.

He modelled the master manipulator on Peter Mandelson (right), the British Labour politician nicknamed The Prince Of Darkness for his work as the party’s spin-doctor.

“There was a photograph I had of him from magazines from about 1984 and I brought it in on our first week when we were doing costume and wardrobe, make-up, trying to find whatever the look would be, and I think what was suggested to me initially was quite different,” says Gillen.

“I did want a look that stood out because I thought this guy is quite meticulous and neat and precise. He (Mandelson) had the nickname Prince Of Darkness as well which seemed to fit.”
