The Last Post (right) has gone straight to TVNZ’s OnDemand service – and it is likely other top-rating overseas shows will take the same route. At the moment there are no plans to screen the Jessica Raine series on free-to-air TV, with more shows being bought exclusively for the OnDemand platform.

A TVNZ spokesperson says, “We’re constantly stepping up our TVNZ OnDemand offering. We’re making full series available wherever possible and increasing the length of time we keep shows online so that viewers can watch on their terms. Nearly all our local series are available in full, and we’re acquiring more and more international titles in this way. The Last Post and The

Vietnam War are two recent exclusive series, but look out for upcoming exclusives Acceptable Risk and Stage

School as well as full back seasons

of Doctor Foster, Mom, The Middle, Friends and The Big Bang Theory. “We are also continuing to fast-track lots of international series so New Zealand fans can watch them at the same time as fans in other parts of the world (e.g. Young Sheldon, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds).”
