Chris Gascoyne (left) is the seventh actor to play Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow, a role he took on in 2000.

Peter Barlow’s tattoos are all real. “Most of them were done when I was young,” Gascoyne says. “They fit well with the character as Peter Barlow was in the navy.”

Gascoyne says if he hadn’t become an actor he probably “would have been a milkman like my dad, which would have been fine”.
