New rules for animals in the central city BOB BEVAN SMITH, VOGELTOWN
The growing number of people keeping livestock in the capital has prompted Wellington City Council to come up with a new set of rules, which have been discussed at a recent meeting.
Essentially, so long as it’s under control and on a leash, you can take any domestic animal for a stroll through the city streets.
We asked you on Neighbourly whether you thought people should be able to walk any domestic animal through the city and found the majority of people63 per cent - supported the proposed new rules while 19 per cent were against. Additionally, about 15 per cent said they ‘‘didn’t care either way.’’
