New lineup for Skal

Skal New Zealand ap­pointed their new na­tional ex­ec­u­tive for 2016 at the re­cent an­nual gen­eral meet­ing in Queen­stown. The new pres­i­dent of Skal New Zealand is Leighton Cameron, from Christchurch, tak­ing over from Tony Smith. Hold­ing the po­si­tion of trea­surer is Charlie Ives (Welling­ton) and Sec­re­tary Ge­off Beaver (Christchurch). The two vice-pres­i­dents are Tr­ish May (Queen­stown) and An­drew Martin (Ro­torua). The con­fer­ence was opened by Queens-town mayor Vanessa van Uden. Other high­lights in­cluded a wel­come by a Maori con­cert group, per­sonal win­ery tour at Gibb­ston Val­ley win­ery by their head wine­maker and a tour of Ar­row­town. A num­ber of se­nior Skal­leagues from around the globe at­tended. Auck­lan­der Nigel Pilk­ing­ton, who is Skal in­ter­na­tional pres­i­dent, joined the con­fer­ence along with vice pres­i­dent David Fisher from Keny.
