Sudima marks of­fi­cial re- open­ing

Sudima Ho­tels and Re­sorts marked the of­fi­cial re-open­ing of its iconic Christchurch Air­port ho­tel by prime min­is­ter John Key, fol­low­ing its re­cent $25 mil­lion re­de­vel­op­ment project. Other dig­ni­taries present in­cluded mem­bers of par­lia­ment Gerry Brown­lee, Nicky Wag­ner and Amy Adams, the mayor of Christchurch Lianne Dalziel as well as many of the ho­tel’s reg­u­lar cor­po­rate and leisure clients. The two-year project has made the ho­tel one of the largest con­fer­enc­ing fa­cil­i­ties in Christchurch. Orig­i­nally opened in 1966 as the White Heron Ho­tel and ac­quired by the Jhun­jh­nuwala fam­ily in 1999, the ho­tel was re-branded as Sudima Christchurch Air­port and be­came the first mem­ber of the Sudima Ho­tels and Re­sorts group.
