Sudima marks official re- opening
Sudima Hotels and Resorts marked the official re-opening of its iconic Christchurch Airport hotel by prime minister John Key, following its recent $25 million redevelopment project. Other dignitaries present included members of parliament Gerry Brownlee, Nicky Wagner and Amy Adams, the mayor of Christchurch Lianne Dalziel as well as many of the hotel’s regular corporate and leisure clients. The two-year project has made the hotel one of the largest conferencing facilities in Christchurch. Originally opened in 1966 as the White Heron Hotel and acquired by the Jhunjhnuwala family in 1999, the hotel was re-branded as Sudima Christchurch Airport and became the first member of the Sudima Hotels and Resorts group.
