Amer­i­can cars roll into race­course

Mus­cle cars, hot rods and mo­tor­cy­cles will be on dis­play at the Tren­tham Race­course this Sun­day.

Moon­shine Rod and Cus­tom Club com­mit­tee mem­ber Phil Wil­liams said at least 600 ve­hi­cles were ex­pected to be on show at the club’s an­nual All Amer­i­can Ve­hi­cle Day.

A por­tion of the funds raised at this year’s event will go to Arthri­tis New Zealand.

Mr Wil­liams said peo­ple trav­elled from Wan­ganui, Palmer­ston North and Napier for the an­nual event.

Amer­i­can ve­hi­cles among the lineup range from old Model As through to the lat­est of­fer­ings from Dodge, Ford, Chevro­let and Har­ley David­son.

The event will fea­ture trade dis­plays, food stalls, mu­sic and rock’n’roll danc­ing.

Clas­sic style: A 1962 Cadil­lac coupe de ville owned by Ja­son and Lisa Gough.
