Word of mouth needed

Upper Hutt Leader - - NEWS -

It’s Upper Hutt School’s 150th birthday this year, and a reunion committee wants locals to spread the word.

Reunion Committee chairwoman Glenda Kicks says there are already more than 300 registrations for the October 17-19 event, but she believes many more past pupils and teachers don’t yet know it’s on.

Planned activities include an informal Chatter and Platters sessions at Trentham Racecourse on the Friday night, an official opening, cake cutting, group photographs and buffet dinner on the Saturday and a memorial/closing service on Sunday.

‘‘ Our lives move in different directions over the years, which makes it difficult to contact past pupils and staff. Please spread the word to your family and friends. . . and contact us with their details,’’ Mrs Kicks asks.

Registration forms are available from Upper Hutt Library, www.reunionupperhutt.school, by emailing uhschool150@gmail.com or calling Glenda 528 8661 or Alison 52 4404.
