Workshops to inspire
Be inspired about fashion and makeup by listening to two speakers at Couch to Catwalk.
The event is being held in association with the blockbuster Catwalk to Cover exhibition at Expressions Whirinaki.
Image Consultant Leonie Dobbs, owner/operator of Style on Jackson in Petone, regularly guides shoppers so they have a better understanding of what colours suit them, regardless of their age or shape
A certified consultant since 1996, her knowledge makes for a unique experience.
Debbie Parlakchief, the founder and creator of Doll Face Mineral Makeup, will also speak at the January 27 event.
Parlakchief started her business on her dining table in 2010 and has since expanded into a full beauty salon in Lower Hutt, which includes the full range of Doll Face products, beauty treatments, nail art and manufacturing space out the back of the store.
The business has expanded to include a custom blended makeup bar for foundations and lipsticks, which is opening soon.
While there walk through Catwalk to Cover, which comes to Upper Hutt from London’s Fashion and Textile Museum, and closes on February 12.

On February 12 Lynn, NZ Illustrative Photographer of the Year finalist and body positive teacher, presents two hands-on workshops. The first is aimed at mothers and daughters and is all about how to have a positive view about your body and feel good in your own skin.
The second is on how to look good in photos, how to take great fashion photos and how to dress for the camera.
Couch To Catwalk, Friday January 27 from 7pm, costs $30. Bookings are required for all workshops, through www.expressions.org.nz
