Big­move starts for Te Omanga Hospice

Staff said a fond farewell to Te Omanga Hospice’s Woburn Rd site over the week­end. Hospice ser­vices have­moved to a tem­po­rary site in Bri­tan­nia St, Pe­tone, with a bit of help from the New Zealand Army, above. A team of vol­un­teers also turned out to as­sist in the move.

Hospice chief ex­ec­u­tive Biddy Har­ford, left, thanked every­one for com­ing out to sup­port Te Omanga.

‘‘We are very grate­ful to every­one who has helped with the mam­moth task of mov­ing our hospice over the past two weeks. We couldn’t have done it with­out the help of our sup­port­ive com­mu­nity,’’ she said.

Bri­tan­nia St will op­er­ate while a new hospice is be­ing built on Woburn Rd.
