Upper Hutt Leader - - FRONT PAGE -

Upper Hutt businesses are in the news this week.

For a second year the Wellington Region Business Excellence Awards were held here, and fittingly so at the Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre— which continues to be a standout success story for our city and an unbeatable business in its own right.

The more than 400 people attending the black tie affair were treated to a quality night of celebration where the venue’s adventurous and artful use of LED lighting was but one of many points of excellence.

Upper Hutt businesses did well, too, with Strictly Savvy , the RDL Group and The Cosmopolitan Club all category winners. RDL also feature on the front page today with the Trentham company working alongside the MakeA-Wish Foundation to deliver a special day for Huntar Sammons, a brave and battling Trentham 11-year-old. We are sure our community will be touched by Huntar’s story and wish the young man and his family the very best.

Lastly, Upper Hutt is saying goodbye to Gethings Motors, a Main St business with a proud record stretching 85 years and, with Colin the last at the helm, three generations long.
