Auck­land West­pac Res­cue He­li­copter had a busy week, fly­ing four mis­sions towai­heke on Novem­ber 8 and three on Novem­ber 9. The rush on Novem­ber 8 started at 1.27am, when the he­li­copter flew a girl with a fever with her mum from Wai­heke to Star­ship Hospi­tal. Three other pa­tients with med­i­cal com­plaints were flown from Wai­heke to Auck­land City Hospi­tal that day, two in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion. On Novem­ber 9, a man with seizures and a man with a pos­si­ble neck in­jury were flown fromwai­heke to the city hospi­tal in a se­ri­ous con­di­tion. A sev­enyear-old girl fell about two me­tres from a tree onto hard clay and was flown to Star­ship Hospi­tal in a mod­er­ate con­di­tion. The res­cue he­li­copter flew 10 mis­sions to Wai­heke in the week end­ing on Novem­ber 12. Wai­heke St John Am­bu­lance at­tended 13 med­i­cal emer­gen­cies and nine ac­ci­dents dur­ing the week.
