Talk about the Bay’s birds
Bird-lover Sonny Davis will speak at Birds BoP on Wednesday June 13 about a field trip experience to inspire others to join the Bay of Plenty branch of Birds NZ.
Birds New Zealand’s youth camps are an opportunity for young people to attend a field course for a hands-on experience in handling birds, and to develop skills in bird ecology.
This year, the youth camp was at Rakiura/Stewart Island and attracted 22 young birders.
One of the member Sonny Davis attended thanks to sponsorship by the Bay of Plenty branch of BirdsNZ.
Sonny will be the guest speaker for the monthly meeting of BoP BirdsNZ in Tauranga and will speak about the adventures he had on this trip, and report on the birdrelated activities undertaken by the group. Bird photographs taken at Rakiura/Stewart Island will also be shown during the evening.
Birds BoP is part of the Ornithological Society of NZ. Birds New Zealand is about enjoying and studying birds. Birds BoP holds evening meetings, field trips and bird counts and welcomes new members and visitors.
