Finalists celebrate region’s business awards
Congratulations to all the winners and participants of the 2018 Hauraki-Coromandel business awards.
All the finalists were invited to take part of the awards gala last Thursday at the Grand Mercure Puka Park Resort in Pauanui.
Waihi businesses have done well this year, with Waihi Gold Discovery Centre winning the Tourism and Hospitality awards and a certificate for innovation.
Number One Electrical also won the top spot winning the Manufacturing and Trade award. The newly established Waihi company created in 2016 by Tahi Spinks has been growing for the last two years.
The public has voted for Koru Florist and Home as their preferred choice, and owner Mel Kaczon and her team were awarded the People’s Choice award.

■ Emerging Business — Stilo Collective (Whitianga ).
■ Professional Services — Twentymans Funeral Directors (Thames).
■ Service to Business — Warren Male, Mediaworks.
■ Certificates to T3 Thames in the Sustainability category.
