Fi­nal­ists cel­e­brate re­gion’s busi­ness awards

Con­grat­u­la­tions to all the win­ners and par­tic­i­pants of the 2018 Hau­raki-Coro­man­del busi­ness awards.

All the fi­nal­ists were in­vited to take part of the awards gala last Thurs­day at the Grand Mer­cure Puka Park Re­sort in Pauanui.

Waihi busi­nesses have done well this year, with Waihi Gold Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre winning the Tourism and Hospi­tal­ity awards and a cer­tifi­cate for in­no­va­tion.

Num­ber One Elec­tri­cal also won the top spot winning the Man­u­fac­tur­ing and Trade award. The newly es­tab­lished Waihi com­pany cre­ated in 2016 by Tahi Spinks has been grow­ing for the last two years.

The pub­lic has voted for Koru Florist and Home as their pre­ferred choice, and owner Mel Kac­zon and her team were awarded the Peo­ple’s Choice award.

■ Pri­mary and Ru­ral — But­ter­cup Dairies (Orongo).

■ Emerg­ing Busi­ness — Stilo Col­lec­tive (Whi­tianga ).

■ Pro­fes­sional Ser­vices — Twen­ty­mans Funeral Di­rec­tors (Thames).

■ Ser­vice to Busi­ness — War­ren Male, Me­di­a­works.

■ Cer­tifi­cates to T3 Thames in the Sus­tain­abil­ity cat­e­gory.
