Award for online campaign
Destination Coromandel has been awarded the inaugural Regional Tourism New Zealand Award for Online Performance.
The destination marketing organisation promotes Hauraki and Thames Coromandel Districts to visitors via “The Coromandel — good for your soul” brand.
The winners of the Regional Tourism New Zealand’s inaugural awards were announced at a cocktail function in Auckland late last month to an audience of Regional Tourism Organisations from around the country.
This award recognises Destination Coromandel as the RTO with the strongest overall results in two key areas of online marketing performance — organic search traffic and online video audience.
Destination Coromandel’s Marketing Manager Megan Nunn says effective digital marketing is crucial to the success of any visitor destination.
“Having a strong digital platform allows us to compete with bigger destinations that are better resourced. We’re very grateful to RTNZ for the recognition. Our digital channels, particularly thecoromandel.com are a result of years of hard work from the team and we’re delighted with the win.”
“Our current Take it Easy — Hauraki Rail Trail campaign, launched in mid September, is a good example of marketing activity directly influencing travellers’ behaviour.
“Already we’ve attracted online visitors to research our tourism products, then they have gone on to book an experience in The Coromandel.”
