Because of Labour weekend there was no set competition on Saturday October 20, but there was an informal stableford haggle for the few players that wanted a game of golf on such a beautiful sunny day. Members and visitors were full of praise and admiration for the condition of the course on Wednesday October 24. It was outstanding, and the greenkeepers are to be congratulated and thanked for achieving and maintaining such high standards for everyone to enjoy. The day was bright and sunny, with little wind, and nearly a third of the forty players in the field returned scores either to, or well under their handicaps in the stableford competition.

It was a glorious day for golf on Tuesday October 23, and considering it was immediately after the long holiday weekend, a good many more members than expected turned up to play the mixed teams nett competition. Winners: Terry Paterson, Jean Cotterill, Barbara Schrider 29 nett. Runners up: Dot Fryett, Brian Hunter Alison Turney, Raewyn Baillie 31 nett. In third place: Glen Bennett, Brian Warren, Julia Nicholson and Keith Leaning 32 nett.
