Busi­ness lead­ers from around the re­gion will meet in Hamil­ton next month to lis­ten to a who's who of busi­ness give their in­sights into New Zealand's chang­ing times in busi­ness.

The Waikato Busi­ness Sum­mit 2018, on Fe­bru­ary 8, is a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween ANZ, BDO Waikato, Char­tered Ac­coun­tants NZ, and Xero. The sum­mit is in the Pa­cific Crys­tal Palace on the Gov­er­nor's Lawn in the Hamil­ton Gar­dens.

It will see key in­dus­try fig­ures speak about chang­ing times in busi­ness such as changes in cen­tral Govern­ment, local Govern­ment, the econ­omy and busi­ness practices.

BDO Waikato managing di­rec­tor Bernard La­musse said it was im­por­tant for busi­ness peo­ple to hear out­stand­ing speak­ers and to spend time net­work­ing with each other to re­ju­ve­nate their busi­nesses.

"We have an out­stand­ing line-up of speak­ers who will of­fer valu­able in­sight into our local and global economies and will con­trib­ute to dis­cus­sions about key is­sues fac­ing our re­gion," says Bernard.

The global em­pire Ama­zon is set to take the stage and speak about changes made within their busi­ness and how it will have an im­pact on your busi­ness.

Hamil­ton City Council's gen­eral man­ager city growth Kelvyn Eglin­ton will talk about changes to local Govern­ment and what is hap­pen­ing in Hamil­ton and the im­pact on local busi­ness.

ANZ Econ­o­mist Phil Borkin will ad­dress changes in the econ­omy and dis­cuss what to ex­pect for the new year.

"This is an ex­cel­lent op­por­tu­nity for busi­ness peo­ple to get to­gether at the be­gin­ning of the year, hear some ex­cit­ing new ideas and trends to en­able them to plan for the year ahead," says Bernard.

Var­i­ous other speak­ers will also dis­cuss changes to cen­tral Govern­ment, giv­ing a back­ground to new poli­cies and their im­pact on our busi­nesses. As well as, changes in busi­ness practices, in­clud­ing is­sues such as IT, dis­tri­bu­tion, cus­tomer pat­terns and em­ploy­ees.

Regis­tra­tions open at 1.30pm on the day, with pre­sen­ta­tions be­gin­ning at 2pm. It will be fol­lowed by net­work­ing and drinks at 5.30pm.

In ad­di­tion, Char­tered Ac­coun­tants NZ is host­ing a morn­ing ses­sion on Be­ing Hu­man in a chang­ing world and how to thrive in a dis­rup­tive work­place.

Tick­ets are $150 which in­cludes nib­bles and drinks while at­tend­ing the Busi­ness Sum­mit.
