A Kiwi sci­ence com­mu­ni­ca­tor will take vis­i­tors on a jour­ney hun­dreds of mil­lions of years into the past at Waikato Mu­seum this week­end. Ge­ol­ogy and palaeon­tol­ogy ex­pert Dr Hamish Camp­bell will re­veal what Aotearoa’s land­scape was like in the time known as the Per­mian –

250-300 mil­lion years ago. His talk sup­ports the mu­seum’s Per­mian Mon­sters: Life Be­fore the Di­nosaurs ex­hi­bi­tion, which fea­tures life-sized mov­ing mod­els and fos­silised skele­tons of the an­i­mals that once ruled the world. The talk runs 3-4pm to­mor­row at Waikato Mu­seum Te Whare Taonga o Waikato.
