Burling slips

Waikato Times Weekend - - RACING -

Peter Burling slipped back to 15th and America’s Cup rival Nathan Outteridge snapped his mast in a pitch pole on day two of the moth world championships in Italy.

Fifth overall after a solid day one effort, Team New Zealand helmsman Burling could manage only eighth and 11th in his two races on Lake Garda yesterday. It was a much more eventful day for Outteridge, the Australian skipper of Artemis Racing powering to a dominant win in his first race before crashing at high speed in race two. He still comfortably did enough to qualify for the gold fleet, finishing 35th, as did Burling.
