A SEE-THROUGH TOP

Breezy, diaphanous clothes arriving in-store signals warm weather on the horizon. Although it’s a stretch to imagine wearing something the wind can blow through just now, sheers are especially good for evening or formal wear, and that’s the kind of dressing where it pays to plan ahead. A sheer lace top, in particular, is a great way to update an existing evening skirt or pants.

This Juliette Hogan lace T-shirt is more see-through than it looks here – we’re seeing both layers of the lace front and back. It’s very gauzy, so a slip is in order – a pale or skin tone one would show up the pattern, but I’ve gone dark to work tonally with the top. I’ve added a nude tone bra as the straps will show less, but with the perfect slip for your bra, the straps can sit flush.

1. Bendon Body seam-free contour bra, $45 2. Juliette Hogan Olive T-shirt in Odelia lace, $299 3. Staple + Cloth Moon cami, $159 4. Blak Ebony skirt, $159, from blak.co.nz 5. Merchant 1948 Swift heels, $210, available mid-september

QUALITY CONCEALERALER

For breakouts, youu want a creamy, solid concealer cealer that comes in a pot or stick, rather than a liquid one that comes in a tube. Glowy, light-reflecting concealers are great for under the eyes, but here, we’re just looking for good coverage and texture. Try Benefit Airbrush concealer ($38) or MAC Studio Finish concealer ($40). Part of one of the most delightful beauty collabs of the year, between top Parisian designer and beloved Parisian beauty brand, my favourite piece from the collection is the multipurpose palette. Encased in the sweetest embroidered packaging, which gives a nod to Le-tan’s signature sought-after clutches, it includes colours for cheeks, eyes and lips, plus a mirror and petite brushes for application.
