Politics of fairness

Waikato Times - - COMMENT&OPINION -

A P Oakley and Rod Wise accuse Labour and the Greens of the politics of envy (Waikato Times, September 12). I say it is the politics of fairness. Capitalists with a sense of fairness agree that the present system is unfair to those with low incomes. Gareth Morgan even set up a political party mainly to address this problem. I will agree with A P Oakley and Rod Wise if, and only if they admit to the politics of greed.

they will just stop spending and then we won’t have to worry about all of the growth in NZ because it will all fade away and then we won’t have massive shortages of employment and the beneficiaries and the 7% unemployed will have more money in their pockets and will be happier.

Come on NZ, why change something that isn’t broken?
