Stars midcourter out

Northern Stars midcourter Fa’amu Ioane has been ruled out for the rest of the national netball premiership season after suffering a serious knee injury. During the Stars’ win over the Northern Mystics last Sunday, Ioane ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament and strained the medial collateral ligament in her left knee. Stars coach Kiri Wills said it was awful to see the impressive youngster go down. ‘‘She is a pretty special person so the team are really feeling it. She has been playing outstanding netball this season and that won’t have gone unnoticed by the national selection panel. We will be putting as much support around her as we can moving forward.’’
