Woman attacked by dogs
A woman is in hospital after being mauled by three dogs. The 60-year-old Ō pōtiki woman suffered deep cuts to her head, neck, abdomen and legs during the attack on Friday at a family home in the township of Te Kaha, in the eastern Bay of Plenty. She was in a critical but stable condition, a Tauranga Hospital spokesperson said yesterday. The three dogs had been seized by the Ō pōtiki District Council and were being held at the pound, Ō pōtiki mayor John Forbes said. He understood the dogs – a rottweiler cross; a staffordshire bull terrier cross; and a bulldog cross – belonged to the woman’s brother.
