Accent On Group goes into receivership, 40 jobs axed
At least 40 jobs have been axed after West Auckland-based builder Accent On Group was placed into receivership. The company broke the news to its employees on Monday. Accent On Group operated a suite of companies mainly under two businesses: scaffolding and construction. The scaffolding business continues to trade and its three employees are unaffected by the receivership. Receiver Damien Grant said the construction business owed a private lender a ‘‘substantial amount’’ but would not disclose the exact seven-figure sum. He said Accent On Construction had begun work on four sites, but only one, a residential development in One Tree Hill, had extensive work under way. The receivers were trying to secure a new contractor to preserve some of the jobs of those working on that site.
