Doctors back on strike

Resident doctors will be back on strike just before Valentine’s Day. The two-day strike will start on Tuesday, February 12. Junior doctors, their union and DHBs haven’t yet been able to agree on an employment agreement, but had two days of mediation this week. The union, the NZ Resident Doctors’ Association, said more mediation was scheduled for Friday, February 15. ‘‘Whilst still a way off settlement, we look forward to working productively with the DHBs to resolve the ongoing dispute,’’ senior advocate David Munro said.
