Play­cen­tre: ‘‘Fam­i­lies grow­ing to­gether’’, play­cen­tre is a par­ent co­op­er­a­tive of­fer­ing Gov­ern­ment funded, qual­ity pre- school ed­u­ca­tion for chil­dren aged 0- 6 years. Ses­sions run from 9 amto 12 noon and are mixed age, so they are fan­tas­tic for the whole fam­ily to at­tend, with the added ben­e­fit of of­fer­ing free NZQA recog­nised adult ed­u­ca­tion. For­est & Bird’s na­tional Fresh­wa­ter Ad­vo­cate, Anna­beth Co­hen, will dis­cuss the Fresh Wa­ter Res­cue Plan that has support from 16 sci­ence, pub­lic health, tourism, recre­ation and en­vi­ron­men­tal or­gan­i­sa­tions. Fresh wa­ter is now one of the most im­por­tant is­sues fac­ing New Zealan­ders this elec­tion year and pres­sure is build­ing on po­lit­i­cal par­ties to support the Res­cue Plan to re­verse the de­cline in fresh­wa­ter qual­ity.
