New CEO for Pukaha

Lead­ing Wairarapa wildlife cen­tre Pukaha Mount Bruce has a new chief ex­ec­u­tive.

Emily Court will re­place He­len Tick­ner, who stood down at the end of Au­gust. She will take up the role im­me­di­ately af­ter Labour week­end.

A Christchurch na­tive, Court moved to Wairarapa two years ago af­ter spend­ing the pre­vi­ous five years work­ing in a busi­ness re­cov­ery role fol­low­ing the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch earth­quakes.

Dur­ing her ten­ure at her pre­vi­ous role, she led a re­cov­ery pro­gramme for the In­ter­na­tional Ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor which in­cluded se­cur­ing a $5 mil­lion fund­ing pack­age.

She has had ex­pe­ri­ence in banking, re­tail, eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment and in­ter­na­tional ed­u­ca­tion, most re­cently with the Wairarapa branch of Pub­lic Trust as a pro­fes­sional trustee and man­ager.

Chair­man of the Pukaha Mount Bruce board Bob Fran­cis said he was de­lighted to an­nounce Court’s ap­point­ment.

‘‘Pukaha is in the process of plan­ning sev­eral new and ex­cit­ing de­vel­op­ments which Emily will lead and we wel­come her to the team.’’
