Organised as a community charity event by the Rotary Club of Timaru North, Hadlow to Harbour has a long history in Timaru that stretches back at least 25 years and the number of people taking part has grown every year now attracting more than 1500 people.

The Dixieland Jazz Band will entertain at the finish and prize giving area, this year to be in front of the Sound Shell, and Mountainview High School Jazz Band will be sending you off energised at the 10km start line with some rousing tunes.

Hadlow to Harbour (H2H) is supported by the South Canterbury District Health Board, Fulton Hogan, Telecom, The TimaruHerald, and various other local firms and organisations and is known for its fun atmosphere and friendliness with people returning year after year. Participants also know they are supporting important local organisations as the event is a fabulous opportunity for community groups to raise money.

Thanks to Rotary, there is now an easy and healthy way for South Canterbury groups to fundraise while taking part in the H2H event. It’s 100 per cent self-funding – you get everything you raise.

By accumulating sponsorship for each runner you have an effective way to raise money for your sport, charity or school.

To gather sponsorship here’s what you need to do.

Gather your team and apply on line at to receive your official sponsorship forms.

Seek sponsorship pledges to participate in the H2H.

Turn up at the start line with your sponsorship forms and have them ‘completion stamped’ at the finish line. Collect your pledges. The only cost to you is the ticket entry. All funds raised go to your group.
