Raising funds for Ashleigh

Waitaki Herald - - FEATURE/NEWS -

Leeanne Schieving and Cherie Newlove are fundraising to support Oamaru woman Ashleigh Schieving, who is working with Youth For A Mission (YWAM) in Townsville.

Ashleigh, who is a fulltime volunteer with the organisation, helps to provide healthcare and support to the people of Papua New Guinea through the YWAM medical ships.

Part of her role is working as the ship’s registrar and she will also head to Papua New Guinea in June to help in clinics which provide dental, optometry and primary health to the locals.

Schieving ( Ashleigh’s mother), and Newlove will begin their fundraising efforts with a barbecue, bucket collection and raffle at Countdown on May 9 from 9am to 3pm.

For more information contact Leeanne Schieving on 027 662 5292 or the Christian Life Centre on 437 2666.
