Southland Boy’s High School travelled to Oamaru to compete against Waitaki Boy’s High School last week. The Smallbore teams competed, with Southland taking the honours 743.15 to 699.7. The Jenkin’s trophy competition points gained after the final round 6; Enfield 8, Pukeuri 16, Tokarahi 10, Oamaru Railway 14. Tokarahi beat Oamaru Railway, 97 to 95.33. Pukeuri won against Enfield, 99 to 93.5. Pukeuri has won the Jenkins Trophy. The Doug Willetts cup for Individual handicap was won by Karl Valpy and the A.A. Hunter challenge trophy for Veterans off rifle was won by Adrianne Sherwin. The last of the ‘‘Grand Slam’’ Otago Championships was held at the Balclutha Range hosted by South Otago Assn. Tony Black (Balclutha) won Master Grade,390.23; Morris Stevenson, (Arthur Barnett),won A Grade,394.21, Murray Reeves, 2nd, with 389.17; Gerald Dodd (Clyde) won B Grade,391.20; Tarnisha Harrison,(Arthur Barnett),won C Grade,381.09; Nic Brosnahan, (Arthur Barnett), won D Grade,369.06. Overall winners for Master Grade, Peter McCallum, A Grade, Murray Reeves; B Grade, Sam Young; C Grade, Tarnisha Harrison; D Grade, Nic Brosnahan. Top Shooter, Peter McCallum, Top Veteran, Murray Reeves, Top Junior, Morris Stevenson; the Terry Lee Memorial trophy (Otago Provincial top ten shooter winner) Morris Stevenson.
