FROM THE EDITOR
September is a crazy busy month.
Spring is springing left, right and centre, with lambs and lush green grass. Daylight Savings is heading our way later this month, along with the school holidays and the start of summer sport.
We’re also heading helter skelter into election time, with all the fun and craziness that brings!
The other thing happening in September is Bee Aware month. It’s time to pause and ponder our precious pollinators, and we’re once again joining forces with our friends at NZ Gardener to make it easy and fun for you.
We’ll have heaps of articles on things you need to know about bees, and some great ways for you to join in, including the annual The Great Kiwi Bee Count which will have you and the kids out in the garden and spotting bumble and his mates in no time.
We’re also getting behind a petition to ban pesticides containing neonicotinoids. And if you pick up a copy of the Gardener, you can throw some seeds around and grow your very own patch of pollinator paradise.
