I had to ask my daughter if I could share this before I sat down to write.

Her one word answer was enough to make me think it was a good idea. Absolutely, she said.

She came home after a weekend with her boyfriend and was positively fizzing.

I’d dropped her at a wedding where he was best man on Saturday, and she didn’t know anyone.

By all accounts, it was a beautiful wedding, and she had a wonderful time.

That may or may not have been the inspiration for the declaration of love that he shared with her afterward, but it was that declaration that made her day, and her year to date.

She was finally able to admit, to herself as well as to him, that she’s in love as well. And I found that absolutely glorious.

In these days we get so busy and so distracted, we forget that little moments of magic exist. But they do. And I remembered, for a brief moment, how wonderful it is to be young and in love. It’s just lovely. – Shannon.
