Guided walks of lo­cal parks in South Auck­land

The Auck­land Coun­cil are or­gan­is­ing guided walks in South Auck­land area., from 17 July 2018 - 11 De­cem­ber 2018. Kara God­dard from Auck­land Coun­cil en­cour­ages peo­ple to come on a guided walk with your lo­cal com­mu­nity ranger, learn about the area, its wildlife, his­tory and land­scapes. Some of the walks re­quire a mod­er­ate level of fit­ness and are of­ten over un­even ground. Wear good walk­ing shoes and bring a drink bot­tle with you. They will walk even if show­ers of rain, pre­sume it will take place un­less told oth­er­wise. The guided walks are: • To­tara Park, Ma­nurewa – 17 July 10am–12pm • Hen­rys Bush, Pa­tuma­hoe – 14 Au­gust 10am–12pm • Mar­gans and Kirks Bush, Pa­pakura – 18 Septem­ber 10am–12pm • Otu­ataua Stone­fields, Man­gere – 20 Septem­ber 10am– 12pm • Te Puke Otara/Hamp­ton park, Otara – 16 Oc­to­ber 10am– 12pm • Cleve­don scenic, Cleve­don – 11 De­cem­ber 10am–12pm Walks are free but book­ings are es­sen­tial by con­tact­ing Kara God­dard, kara.god­dard@auck­land­coun­, or by phone 027 277 1323.
