Quick LAV stop on way to Waiouru
Four Light Armoured Vehicles (LAVs) stopped off by the Wanganui Motorboat Club on their way to Waiouru Military Camp this week.
A New Zealand Defence Force s pokesman s ai d t he vehicles were travelling from Linton Military Camp for a training exercise.
“The LAVs were from 1 Brigade based in Linton Army Camp,” he said.
“They stopped in Whanganui as part of a driver training task on their way to the Waiouru Military Training Area for Exercise Cassino.”
Linton Military Camp is the largest New Zealand Army base and is home to the 1 Brigade headquarters. It is located just south of Palmerston North.
