Quick LAV stop on way to Waiouru

Four Light Ar­moured Ve­hi­cles (LAVs) stopped off by the Wan­ganui Mo­tor­boat Club on their way to Waiouru Mil­i­tary Camp this week.

A New Zealand De­fence Force s pokesman s ai d t he ve­hi­cles were trav­el­ling from Lin­ton Mil­i­tary Camp for a train­ing ex­er­cise.

“The LAVs were from 1 Bri­gade based in Lin­ton Army Camp,” he said.

“They stopped in Whanganui as part of a driver train­ing task on their way to the Waiouru Mil­i­tary Train­ing Area for Ex­er­cise Cassino.”

Lin­ton Mil­i­tary Camp is the largest New Zealand Army base and is home to the 1 Bri­gade head­quar­ters. It is lo­cated just south of Palmer­ston North.
