Beginners course in Scottish Country Dancing:
This is a five week Scottish Country Dance Course for adults. The class will consist of a warm up, exercises working to develop and improve technique in formations and dances and a cool down. By the end of week five you will have learned a series of lively beginner friendly dances that you can use in a ceilidh setting. You don’t need swords, kilts, a partner or a Scottish accent. No previous dancing experience is required to attend this course.
Where/when: Classes run every Friday from 8-9pm, beginning on February 23 at Carlton School Hall, Carlton Ave. We request that those taking part in the course arrive 10-15 minutes early on the first night.
What to wear/bring: Wear a pair of soft soled shoes so you can feel the floor underneath your feet. Dress comfortably: skirts, shorts or loose trousers will give you more freedom when you are flying along. We recommend bringing a bottle of water.
For more information: Email email@example.com to reserve your place. The course is a $50 bulk fee, to be paid in full by the second night of the course.
