Be­gin­ners course in Scot­tish Coun­try Danc­ing:

This is a five week Scot­tish Coun­try Dance Course for adults. The class will con­sist of a warm up, ex­er­cises work­ing to de­velop and im­prove tech­nique in for­ma­tions and dances and a cool down. By the end of week five you will have learned a se­ries of lively be­gin­ner friendly dances that you can use in a ceilidh set­ting. You don’t need swords, kilts, a part­ner or a Scot­tish ac­cent. No pre­vi­ous danc­ing ex­pe­ri­ence is re­quired to at­tend this course.

Where/when: Classes run ev­ery Fri­day from 8-9pm, be­gin­ning on Fe­bru­ary 23 at Carl­ton School Hall, Carl­ton Ave. We re­quest that those tak­ing part in the course ar­rive 10-15 min­utes early on the first night.

What to wear/bring: Wear a pair of soft soled shoes so you can feel the floor un­der­neath your feet. Dress com­fort­ably: skirts, shorts or loose trousers will give you more free­dom when you are fly­ing along. We rec­om­mend bring­ing a bot­tle of wa­ter.
