What: Harete is a lawyer and Whanganui lo­cal. She and hus­band Dean MacFater are mana whenua, with Harete af­fil­i­ated with Te Ati­haunui a Pa­parangi, Nga¯ ti Apa and Nga¯ Rauru. Born, raised and ed­u­cated in Whanganui, she grad­u­ated in 1991 with an LL.B and has worked in gen­eral prac­tice in fam­ily, men­tal health, youth jus­tice child wel­fare, crim­i­nal, Ma¯ ori land and me­di­a­tion. She has served on Whanganui DHB and is Whanganui elec­torate MP. The talk will be fol­lowed by ques­tions and sup­per.
