English gardens and spring days on the terrace evoke the beginnings of a new season ahead
Florals! Spring! Talk about a fashion trope overly done to death; it’s become a safe fall-back for designers wanting to shake off the remnants of winter with a fresh start. Retailers know a floral print sells, and designers are only too happy to oblige; this time around a sense of English nostalgia has seeped into spring deliveries via ditzy prints and patchwork, as if sourced from some quaint English haberdashery. While it’s easy to romanticise the nostalgic aspects of pretty prints and heirloom-inspired accessories, the following pieces are still thoroughly modern choices that don’t feel too twee and when teamed with casual denim separates and a pair of white canvas sneakers, are the perfect way to mix town and country into one standout look.
