Call me shallow, but I’m a sucker for a party boy or girl. I admire people who spend their life “out”. I had a brief stint (okay, most of my 20s) going out a lot but then, like most of us, succumbed to the charms of the couch. Anyway, this week, Greg Bruce has written about his hugely successful night out on the town with three of Auckland’s hardest-working party boys. Also this week, we have an interview with Pamela Anderson. I’d never quite understood the fascination with her, and her train wreck of a life, but Charlotte Edwardes’ interview with her reveals a more nuanced side to her, including her close and strange friendship with Julian Assange. We’ve also got three fantastic chocolate desserts from Annabel Langbein if you feel like giving the pavlova the heave-ho this Christmas, and a great interview with Esther Lamb in our back page column, about the glory days of working at Ponsonby Rd icon SPQR.
