Annabel Liddell, who graces our cover and spring fashion spread, is not only a musician and a muse, but a sixth-year medical student. It’s hard to think of two more disparate disciplines. Perhaps unsurprisingly then, her fashion mantra is “anarchy rules”. The rule is, there are no rules. Trailblazers are often not fashionable in the popular definition of the word. They are the disrupters, the playful; there is joy and humour in the execution of their style. Like Jessica Grubisa, of Harman Grubisa, who this week writes a funny, heartfelt love letter to sunglasses — the front row accessory for any fashion week. Like Blair Archibald, who blurs the lines to spectacular effect. To this, I’d add my own mantra: age is not a condemnation. This issue is dedicated to the many layers of the fashion world, to popular culture, to the rebels. May they inspire us, always.
