Bad tea

Weekend Herald - - Viewpoints -

Does anyone know why tea is served so badly in Auckland, especially at expensive cafes which should know better? All this reverence for coffee but the “barista” can’t make a decent pot of tea.

We get lukewarm water with a bag thrown in the saucer or silly cages full of something like seaweed which barely touches the water because the pot is only half full, and never enough milk. Strong dark tea must have boiling water poured over it and milk is not an option you get “on the side with that”. Try the Coronation Restaurant in Mangere Bridge. They do it right at the right price.
