Flat out bonkers

Weekend Herald - - Your Sporting Weekend -

A while back NBA star Kyrie Irving started telling people the earth was flat. A few other NBA players jumped on the bandwagon. I was sure at the time Irving was just bored and wanted to troll the media and hoops fans. But who knows? He later said he was just joking. Proving things are a little more esoteric in Major League Baseball — or at least among the Cleveland Indians pitching crew — hurler Brady Aiken this week tweeted: “While in the training room/clubhouse we came up with a great question for debate. If the universe is ever expanding, how many earths are out there?” The poll had a choice of “Just one, 2, More than 2”. Fellow Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger replied: “The answer is infinite . . . if space is infinite the odds will eventually catch up, over and over and over again

. . . infinite earths.” No poll on whether said earths were flat or spherical.
