Hughie in news

Weekend Herald - - Your Sporting Weekend -

Claiming he was robbed in his last fight — beaten by Joseph Parker in September — Brit Hughie Fury, 23, steps back into the ring at Bolton's Macron Stadium early tomorrow morning to fight Sam Sexton for the British heavyweight crown. Despite losing by unanimous decision to Parker, Fury still talks the talk. “I thought that I won the fight because Parker didn’t hit me with any shots at all, I thought I was ahead in the fight and everybody had me up on their cards,” said Fury. “When you are in a ring you know if you have won a fight or not and you could see the result by Parker’s face, he thought that he had lost. I am the uncrowned world champion and you will see why that is.” Sexton, who took the fight others did not want, said: “I won’t be at all fazed going into Hughie’s homeland as I’ve proved in the past with championship victories in Belfast, twice, and in Edinburgh.” British heavyweight title, tomorrow 6am.
