The Auck­land Pride pa­rade will take place Satur­day Fe­bru­ary 25 at 7.30pm. The pa­rade will start from the north end of Pon­sonby Rd at Tole Street, con­tin­u­ing down Pon­sonby Rd and end­ing at Western Park. The pre-pa­rade en­ter­tain­ment will start on Pon­sonby Rd from 5.30pm. Pon­sonby Rd will be closed to traf­fic from 4pm to 11pm and park­ing re­stric­tions will ap­ply in the area.


Auck­land Arts Fes­ti­val will host a light and sound in­stal­la­tion at the Auck­land Do­main by the Power Plant group. The in­stal­la­tion re­flects a noc­tur­nal jour­ney. Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the theft of ten church pews stolen from Mt Eden Pres­by­te­rian Church on Fe­bru­ary 12. Con­sta­ble Laura Van Door­mal said the pews are very large in size and heavy and would be dif­fi­cult to trans­port and it would take at least two peo­ple and a large ve­hi­cle or trailer to re­move them.
