FROM THE STAFF

Western Leader - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

This week the girls from this office may have helped save a toddler’s life.

Just as we were about to enter an eatery that we frequent more than a healthy BMI allows, we spotted the kid tottering through the car park.

As he maneuvered his way around various makes and models, I stifled a scream.

It was a futile effort because seconds later I yelled ‘‘stop’’ to a car that was turning towards him and luckily the driver braked in time. But that may have been because another passerby actually signalled the driver to stop.

The jury is out on that one.

The child was oblivious to all and it turned out he had escaped from a shop where his mother had been looking for him.

I must admit I wanted to tell her she had been irresponsible, but afterwards I was glad I didn’t as toddlers who have just discovered feet and their functionality are a hazard.

No mum needs a lecture on that.
