Henderson housing development up for sale
The first of nine Auckland Council-led development projects for Henderson is on sale.
The site at 21 Henderson Valley Rd was on the market on October 14. It was one of nine development projects by council and Panuku Development to change Henderson into an urban eco centre.
The 1.29 hectare property would be home to 50 terraced homes. It had strong links to public transport and cultural, recreational and educational facilities.
Panuku Development Auckland chief operating officer David Rankin said the sale would be by tender process with strict conditions.
The successful tender was required to subdivide, complete construction by a set deadline,of the medium density homes within a specific timeframe and demonstrate how it planned to achieve Panuku’s desired outcome for the use of land.
The successful tender would be announced in early 2018. Rankin said proceeds from the sale would be used to fund another unlock project – the neighbouring 40 one-bedroom units for older tenants on 33 Henderson Valley Rd.
Tender submissions close on November 16 at 4pm.
21-33 Henderson Valley Rd will be developed into terraced homes and units for the elderly.
