Add some drama to garden with this plant

Whanganui Chronicle - - 48 Hours/Gardening -

This plant has the most spectacular, breathtaking deep red blooms of just about any plant.

Mandevilla Aloha Forever Red is the result of some of the world’s top plant breeding programmes.

Add some drama to your garden with this mandevilla. For months from spring and through the summer Aloha Forever Red will produce rich red long-lasting flowers that will not fade. Its tropical foliage is fresh, glossy and green.

Sure to steal the show, Aloha Forever Red can be used in multiple ways; as a climber up lattice, walls or fences. It can be allowed to trail in the garden or cascade down a bank or from a large hanging basket.

This plant is a great option to add another design layer of interest adding height, colour and texture to your walls and garden.

Limited for space? Aloha Forever Red will make a great patio specimen planted in a pot and growing up an obelisk.

As well as being breathtakingly handsome, it is also fairly hardy and easy to grow.

Its preference is to be planted in free draining soil in a sunny position. This plant is moderately coastal tolerant and once established it will tolerate short periods of dry soils.

Keep soil moist and feed with a slow release fertiliser such as Ican slow food for the best results.

Cut back after flowering.
