Bug Man visit

ONE of North­land’s premier spots for see­ing na­tive species has part­nered with an am­bas­sador for na­ture in a se­ries of com­mu­nity events on Fri­day. Dragon­fly Springs Wet­lands Re­serve, On­er­ahi, has in­vited Ruud Klein­paste, the ‘Bug Man’, to visit Whanga¯ rei and share his knowl­edge. Ruud will be be giv­ing a pre­sen­ta­tion at On­er­ahi Com­mu­nity Cen­tre, 10.30-11.30am, on Fri­day fol­lowed by a ed­u­ca­tor’s work­shop (11.30-1.30pm) and af­ter­noon of fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties (2.30-4pm) with Ruud at Dragon­fly Springs, which in­cludes the op­por­tu­nity for a pic­nic lunch with one of the vis­it­ing food trucks. Later in the day Ruud will be at Fo­rum North for Whanga¯ rei Li­brary’s Spring into Sum­mer Talk Se­ries (5.30-7.30pm in the Cafler suite). All events are free of charge.
