Notorious nurse Carla twice tried to kill her rival Tiffany Pratt, and then caused the crash that led to Carmen Roberts’ death. She later murdered her husband Bernie Leach and blamed an earthquake! Hamilton actress Elisabeth, 46, will be presenting the upcoming doco series IslandsoftheGulf.

What was your favourite SCENE TO fiLM?

Oh, it’s got to be the quake! We had to pretend the room was moving and my acting must’ve been terrible. After I brought the candlestick down on Bernie’s head, a make-up artist sprayed fake blood all over my face and the actor presented me with a T-shirt that said, “Move your fat butt!”, which was the line that prompted me to kill him.

HOW DID YOU CHANNEL YOUR INNER VILLAIN?

As pretentious as it sounds, it’s really all about saying your lines with your head and your heart connected – and not walking into things! Carla spent a lot of time being sad, angry and crazy, and it was hard not to take that home.

HOW DID FANS REACT TO YOU?

Within 20 seconds of meeting someone, I’d do my best to charm them and then they’d say, “Oh, you’re not a bit like her!” I felt I had to prove I wasn’t an axe-wielding psycho killer.
